What is a Deed of Gift? A deed of gift is a signed legal document that transfers ownership from one person/institution to another voluntarily and without recompense. This is sometimes used for oral history interviews, especially with live narrators, to officiate the ability for the person/institution conducting/housing the interview to publish the oral history. This release often also include a clause that restricts how and/or when the interviews can be released, such as only released after their passing.

Where can I get a sample Deed of Gift? The Louie B. Nunn Center for Oral History at the University of Kentucky has a sample deed of gift that can be helpful for you to use for consideration.
